QuestionYou did not answer the first question. Can the control be set so that I can leave and the cooker will start sometime after I leave?

- Answer No, you cannot preset the timer to automatically start. If you plan to use it as a slow cooker it will start the cooking process as soon as the timer (for length of cooking time) is set. It is a great cooking system though. I have had mine for a few years now. Bought my son his last Christmas and my daughter said it is the only thing she really wants this year. I like that you can brown in it and then turn it to the slow cooker setting. Clean up is a breeze as well.

- Answer Hello, Thank you for your question. Yes, the Display Screen will show “8:00” hours for Low setting and “4:00” hours for High setting. Turn the Adjustment Dial to set the desired time. The time will increase or decrease in 30 minute increments for up to 12 hours. The timer will begin counting down after 3 second. Kind regards, Customer Care Team

QuestionIs the insert "teflon" coated that can scratch over time and be dangerous to mix with food?

- Answer Yes. It is Teflon, or Teflon-like. You have to be care in the utensils you use and in washing it. Only wash by hand.
