A:AnswerThe only difference between the 201 and 251, is the integrated thermometer that comes with 251. Basically, the two are same in all other facets.
A:AnswerThe top and sides get very hot. Too hot to touch for more than briefly but not so hot that you would get a physical burn before your reflexes kick in. There is a cool down fan that continues running for quite a long time after cooking. After a 10 minute cook at 425 the cool down fan ran for a half hour.
A:AnswerThe insulation is nice it doesn't get to hot. No foul smell. I replaced this with a less expensive Aumate and that had a bad smell for a month. I had to run it outside for a long time. This one is nicely made and solid but the electronics didn't last very long.
A:AnswerThe DT251 has a thermometer that measure the meat temp. So you know when you are at well, medium well, rare, etc. The DT201 does not and you can not add it later.
A:AnswerThe dimensions stated are confusing/wrong for sure. If looking at the front of the DT251, it is 17.09" side to side (width) and 20.22" from the front of the oven to the rear (depth) and of course 13.34" top to bottom (high). Great oven, you won't regret buying it!!
A:AnswerIt's in the book as well as it is online if you look up this product but I have taken a picture out of one of the pages in the book so you know what it can handle I do not have an exact weight but this might give you an idea
