That is for the wiring to the temperature probe if you want to cook to temperature. I haven't used it but you can plug the temp sensor into the unit and insert it into your food. Once the desired temperature is reached the unit will turn off. Or you can just use it and manually turn off the unit when you reach the desired temperature.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That drawer is for cooking chickens. There’s a digital thermometer built into the side of the unit. Take out the thermometer and plug it in above the basket and cook meats with ease to your desired temp! Shuts off after achieving desired temp.
