“I see a 8 pin and a 6pin connector on the GPU. My power supply only has a 6 pin and a 2 pin connector. How do I hook this connector from my Power supply to the GPU? Is another cable needed?”

Yes you need an additional 8 pin power connector to connect it in addition to the 6+2 connector. Otherwise there is not enough power from just the 6+2 pin connector and it will not work. After you get an 8 pin connector just look for a open 8 pin slot going out from the power supply and connect it like the 6 pin. Once you put in the 8 pin and 6 pin connectors the card will run perfectly. Hope this helps.
