No, the extra sensors are for tracking with the original Rift. The Rift S uses "inside out tracking" via 5 cameras mounted on the headset itself. It sacrifices a little bit of the tracking quality for ease of use, which is worth it in my opinion. Just make sure you've got a lot of light wherever you're using it and it should be fine.

The Rift S does not require external sensors and has some rudimentary cameras on the headset that are used for tracking. Sidenote: you can turn on passthrough to see your surroundings anytime with the headset on
