• A:Answer Yes. You will have to set it up to accept third party applications, though. Steam has a lot of games for the Oculus Rift and Rift S. Just look at the compatibility for each game in Steam description.

Q: QuestionHow does Rift S support sound? Is it equipt for 2 plug ear buds like Quest 1 or does it support through device sound at all?

• A:Answer First I thank someone for trying to help with my question about sound support. After I posted it and left the store for a couple of days I logged back in and opened the Oculus Rift S listing again and started browsing the page with more deliberate intent. I found a details bar and managed to open it to find more in depth description of the product in which I found the answer. It appears these new Rift S headsets have built in speakers near the ears unlike the original that had the "added on" style speaker muffs that mounted to the head strap and covered the ears similarly to ear muffs. The new design allows users to hear someone trying to get their attention by voice instead of grabbing onto the user while playing. So.. Now this has been answered as long as the details are in fact correct. I hope this helps others as well.

• A:Answer Compatibility depends on the game, but a lot of games do support the rift S. Half life ALYX works, pavlov vr works, hotdogs horseshoes and hand grenades works as well. Just keep in mind that there will be some odities in games where it is not designed to be used for the rift s like Half life alyx.

Q: QuestionIf I order this would it come as a whole set with cables and the sensors that go around the room? Still new to VR so correct me if I am misunderstanding something.

• A:Answer The rift S has inside out tracking, meaning that you will not need to set up any outside sensors. There is only one cable that extends from the headset that has the USB 3.0 and display port contained therein. Other headsets like the Valve Index and HTC vive require external tracking base stations to be powered and connected to your PC.

• A:Answer Any with a DVI port. Otherwise you can use an adapter. Make sure it has an i7 or better, at least 8 GB of RAM, and a 960 or better video card or it will be lag city.

• A:Answer You need a laptop with a DisplayPort interface. A mini will do too as the Oculus comes with an adapter. You need a gaming laptop though with a GPU equivalent of GTX 970 or better.
