• The only way I can see to record analog signal using this receiver is to connect the deck's recording input to the "Pre Out" port near the Zone 2 connector and the playback to something like the CD input. Any source might possibly be recorded this way, but I don't have an analog recorder to test this with. Check the manual to see if the Pre Out is volume controlled - you may have to break some windows in order to get a 'loud enough' signal for the tape deck. If the Pre Out is 'line level' you'll be better off. Note: recording through this receiver might not be legal. Call Onkyo and ask first..

• This isn't built to connect Cassette Decks. This is pretty much HDMI and newer equipment.
