“Will the remote control control all the devices connected to the receiver?”

It is a universal remote but I have not tried using it to control the set top box (satellite) because the satellite remote controls all of my sound adjustments too. My experience with Onkyo is that the remote controls everything but don't be surprised when some functions just don't "compute". I still keep all of my remotes in a side drawer near the couch.
