Is it a DVD and CD player? So you just want to listen to music on it? If so, I recommend just plugging the player into the CD port with audio cables only.
A:AnswerI have "read" that you can plug an external Chromecast (video) directly into one the receiver's HDMI inputs and then cast video to the external Chromecast (video) rather than the receiver's built in Chromecast (audio only).
A:AnswerI have not found this myself yet. There is a level calibration of +/- 12 db for each speaker, 15 db for subwoofer and an equalizer trim adjustment for (I thought I adjusted +/- 10db) +/- 6db for various frequencies. I did just consult the advanced manual on this question.
A:AnswerI would not reconmend connecting these wires without knowledge of the system. The TX-NR676 is designed to drive a 5.2 or 7.2 speaker system. There should be 5 pairs of wires for 5.2 speaker system. 7 pairs of wires for 7.2 speaker system. Plus 1 additional pair if using zone 2 speakers. The picture looks to be a volume control circuit for remote speakers.
