A:AnswerPress the Guide button or DVR then select Program guide. Since the ORBY system is fairly basic I haven't found any shortcuts to work with, so you are going to have to scroll through the guide and find your program. Sometimes I wait closer to the day and time of a program I like, then I select it. Once you land on a program hit the Record button (REC), at that point the system will guide you through. Here's a little hint, start the recording 1 minute early. I noticed that the recordings do not start at the top of the minute, and the first part of my shows get cut off.
A:AnswerThe range is about 25 miles at best. I purchased an antenna from Best Buy that cost around $100 but it picks up channels from 75 miles away. The antenna they provide is good if your local stations are within 15 miles or so but it has to be aimed right at their transmitter or you won’t pick it up.
A:AnswerYes the $40, $50 will accommodate four tv's. If you choose 1 or 4 DVR's there is a 4.00 flat additional monthly charge. No charge for basic receiver. So far there are no channels strictly for MLB or NFL, you can tune in to games with local OTA Channels. Sports channels would only increase the flat monthly charge, which kind of defeats the purpose of this service.
A:AnswerLocal NBC, ABC, FOX and CBS stations have sports. TNT, TBS has some. Showtime has 60 Minutes Sports, Showtime Championship Boxing, MIxed Martial Arts to name a few examples. Stadium sports network in some markets. Check orbytv.com for the most recent list of networks.
No ESPN as of August 17.
A:AnswerVery happy with my service, We might have more than three time the local channels that we previously had with our fiber service provider. Right on the orby cardboard box they state. “ Reception may vary by location . “ We feel mislead by our previous company for charging us for local stations and providing only a fraction of what’s being broadcast.
A:AnswerIt's a 500 GB hard drive so you can get about 100 hours of pure HD and maybe 800 hours with standard def. And yes, you can pause, ff, rewind, etc. You can jump farther ahead or back for long recordings.
A:AnswerYou need to have at least one ORBY DVR or the basic ORBY reciever for your main television and either add ORBY recievers of your choosing or have the ORBY installation tech run a line from the local antenna to enjoy just locals on TVs 2 & 3.
