• If your phone goes through the internet and the internet needs power, then how could your phone work when the power goes out?

• received the phone this week and found out that it will work (with a true landline) when the power goes out. all you have to do is insert 2 aa batteries in the base. just make sure to remove them when the power resumes.

• I have not hooked my new phone up yet, but I don't think it will work when the power goes out if it is the same as my current phone because you have to also plug it in to an outlet as well as the telephone jack and the current phone I have goes out when the power goes out. That's why I still keep a true landline only phone upstairs as well.
