“Does this phone operate as a speaker phone? Is there a button to activate the speaker phone?”

There is a speaker phone function. Just hit the "talk" button after you place a call or receive a call and you're in speaker phone mode. There is a little speaker image under the word "TALK."

I have the KX-TGL432. Just hold down the "Talk" button for 2-3 seconds.

If you hit the “TALK” button twice the speaker phone activates.

Talk button is also the speaker button. Just press twice.
