Q: Questionyour smart Wi-Fi light bulbs don't indicate what Wi-Fi they can be hooked up to. They're two bands they hook up to 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz. they don't work on both, so the individual bulb need to state which one it is compatible with. Why don't you post this?

• A:Answer That is because these bulbs do not connect to your wifi network. The bulbs can either connect via Bluetooth or Zigbee. WIth this kit, you connect the bridge to your local network with a wired connection. Then, the bulbs will connect to the bridge (and each other) via Zigbee, which is like their own little mesh network. Only the bridge is on your network. If you just had the bulbs, you could still connect via Bluetooth which allows you to control them from a phone app or from Bluetooth enabled devices like an Amazon Echo, but with more limited functions.

• A:Answer Yes, it is safe because these bulbs use 10.5w. Definitely less than 60w. (Since it is LED they advertise the wattage equivalent which can be confusing. This number gives you a hint of how much light it puts out, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the power requirement.)
