A:AnswerThe recorder does not make any sound while recording. There is an led that flashes, but you can turn it off. I do not believe there is a limit to file size and it takes sd cards so you can record for a fairly long time. It also has a voice activated feature.

A:AnswerNo. You can download it easily to your computer and rename the file there. The device has the best and clearest voice pickup that I have ever seen though. Great features. Very glad I bought it.
