“Cold weather operation Will the LCD screen work in cold winter weather? Say below freezing (32deg F)? I've read about other units taking time to warm up before being able to see screen. Is that the case with this unit? Is there an operating temperature range that the unit will work properly within?”

I live in California, and the last few days have been cold. I believe the coldest was 40 degrees. I did not notice any issue or had to warm up to get it started. Just turned on car and turn on the radio and works right away.
