I don't use it enough to give you a definitive answer on the length of time it lasts on a charge. You can charge it anywhere that you have an open USB port. One end is capped to cover the USB part. My wife and I use it when we walk to listen to music together and we both hear it pretty well when it's clipped on my shirt or even the brim of my hat, allowing us to talk.
