• A:Answer I sent an email asking Polk Audio this same question. The answer..."The patio 200 and Atrium 5 are the same, the grills are a little different but that is it. The patio 200s are limited release" which is why they cost less.

• A:Answer Two way speakers have two speakers, three way have three. The third speaker in a three way system handles the middle range of sounds, typically voices. Well constructed two way systems can handle most sound, but typically don't handle the lowest tones. That's the reason for having the midrange speaker because the woofer in most three ways can't handle mid frequencies effectively and still produce the bass it is intended to. Trade off is typically having less low frequency capabilities.

Q: Questioncan these speakers stay outside in the winter. Will snow or rain or cold temps ruin them

• A:Answer The previous owner of our home installed the earlier model of these in the backyard, placing them under the overhang of the roof. That seems to protect them from rain, because after three years of our using them, they still sound great after surviving numerous (sometimes severe) rainstorms. As for temperature, it probably depends of your location. In Texas, our winters aren't that harsh (temperatures occasionally get into the teens) and there aren't any temperature ratings on the manufacturer website. Considering Polk is a good brand and they are built for the outdoors, I would imagine they are pretty hardy. Possibly covering them in severe cold might help buy some piece of mind. Overall, the previous models were impressive enough that we bought this model to add to the existing setup.

• A:Answer yes, they work with Chromecast audio. I didn't like having to download yet another app to use it with it though. I originally bought the Chromecast audio ($35) and a Rocketfish Bluetooth Receiver ($50) to try them both. It works with BOTH.....BUT, with the Rocketfish made more sense for us....several people using severral devices and no need to download additional apps on every device. Play from existing playlists. If distance is over 30 feet you should use 12 gauge speaker wire for best sound...trust me, it makes a difference. THESE SPEAKERS HAVE AMAZING CLARITY AND SOUND!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!

Q: QuestionI'm in Ohio and it can get very cold here in the winter. I think they will be protected from the majority of the elements, just worried about extreme cold. I'm assuming they have the same design as marine and rv speakers, but would like long term results

• A:Answer Had mine outdoors for 2+ years with zero protection over them, mounted to the railing of my deck. No problems other than the speaker wire corrodes where the metal is exposed and connects to the speaker after a year or so. Just need to go out and snip back the wire and reconnect. I live in Chicagoland, we get all kinds of weather. Speakers are awesome.
