QuestionI have passive bookshelf speakers. I do get bass on subwoofer but I don't get output to the speakers.

- Answer I would check your connections and configuration. I setup mine with RCA cables between the sub and stereo. The speakers are wired to my stereo. I think the sub has a switch if you want to connect the speakers directly to the sub instead of the stereo.

- Answer Hum is usually due to noise from bad cables or the wrong settings on the Stereo. I would replace the cables and make sure they are not wrapped around power cords or wall plugs. if you still have hum then I would check your stereo settings to see if you have an option for sub out or frequency cut off

- Answer You can hook up the Polk Subwoofer using the subwoofer pre-out connection on the receiver. Ensure you use a subwoofer cable.

- Answer Do you have a receiver. You don't connect your other speakers into the subwoofer inputs. You need a powered receiver that sends an input signal to the subwoofer. You connect the receiver to the subwoofer and each speaker separately to the receiver.

- Answer Yes, that’s the way mine is hooked up but you will have to adjust the tone on the back of the sub-woofer once it is hooked up.

- Answer hmm... 7.2 systems (& higher) speaker pairs should be matched up as close as possible. It wouldn't totally screw up anything. I just don't think that it will be heard or even effective. Get another Klipsch 12 or extremely similar in actual frequency response specs.

- Answer Did you have the receiver turned on and turned up? If so there is a possibility you blew the internal fuse or if you shorted out the plug by touch - to + while plugging it in. Try it on a different system.

- Answer I have 2 subwoofer outputs on my Sony receiver, because it's a 5.2 system. If yours is a 5.2 that's why you have 2 sub outputs, use either one. If you have a .1 system, idk. But i found out by asking someone at the store. Or you can try calling geek squad with a simple quesiton like that.

- Answer Forget a sound bar get the towers. A decent sound bar is at least $550 & they will never sound as effective as towers.

- Answer I have two psw 505's in my 11'x21' living room and found that if I run my rear sub on the speaker inputs if performs good. Just make sure that the rear sub is set on 180 degree.
