• A:Answer Three reasons. Most obvious is for the sake of storage and travel, cause wires are easier to roll up when they’re not attached to the controller themselves. Secondly, it’s designed to protect the switch in the case of a hard tug or someone tripping on the cable, which will cause the cable to unplug from the controller instead of yanking on the dock and dropping the switch. And finally, because the type of cable it uses is so common, it makes it really easy to replace if it gets damaged somehow.

• A:Answer The switch dock has 3 USB ports, two on the side and one in the back with the AC and HDMI ports. You can plug the controller into any of these USB ports. Please note that this means you can only use this controller when the switch is docked, and cannot be used when in Handheld mode.

• A:Answer The cord is USB-C to connect to the controller and USB-A to connect to the switch dock. The only connection to the Switch itself is USB-C. So it won't work as-is. If you purchase a USB-C to USB-C cord, then it should work.
