• Yes. Intuit sold Quicken several years ago and the new company has gone to a subscription service.

• No need to download every year. As updates are released, you will get them automatically and seamlessly as long as you are a Quicken member. So, connected services (electronic connections to your financial institutions) and updates to your software will be available to you as long as you subscribe as a member. Also, you find Quicken on sale at Best Buy, you can take advantage of extending your membership further (time limitations apply). Thank you.
