You set it up with the wifi on your phone. Thats how you enter the home wifi info .

But just make sure that where your current sprinkler controller is located you can pick up your home WiFi signal. Your new Rachio controller needs to be able to pick up a good WiFi signal to work properly. To check this out, take your cell phone out to where your current sprinkler controller is located. Make sure your phone is picking up your home WiFi signal. Place your phone in the area of the controller and you should be getting at least a 2 to 3 bar signal. This is a great controller.

Be sure that the 8 zone is enough. The quick start guide included will get you started. From there you just have to play with the app.
