A:AnswerThis is our first generation controller. It uses the same software (app) as the second generation controller. To learn more about the differences, please see this community post: http://community.rachio.com/t/generation-2/2706
A:AnswerYes, this completely replaces your old sprinkler controler. But all controls are via their website or app. So you won't have any manual controls on the device itself. I don't miss that at all. I love being able to set and check on my sprinklers from anywhere.
A:AnswerAs long as the housing is in good shape, there is no reason this couldn't be mounted outside. Make sure you have a good wifi signal at the location you intend to install it.
A:AnswerYou can certainly put two controllers next to each other, depending on your wiring set up, our team may need to assist with any technical questions that come up along the way. You will be able to control both units from your app under a single log in. The controllers will not know about each other, but we're happy to help get your schedule set up with recommendations. If you do have any other questions, please reach out to [email protected] and we'll be happy to help.
A:AnswerRachio is compatible with nearly all 24 VAC systems - Rainbird, Orbit, Hunter, etc. Please contact [email protected] if you have any further questions.
A:AnswerGeri, we have two generations of controllers available; Generation 1 and Generation 2. To learn the differences, please see this community post: http://community.rachio.com/t/generation-2/2706?u=emil. Additionally, there is an 8 zone and 16 zone model for both generations of controllers. The 8 zone list price is $50 less than the 16 zone. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact our support team at support[at]rachio[dot]com.
A:AnswerGood question. We recommend only connecting one valve per terminal, however you can run two valves from the same terminal if you're not using a master valve. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerPinesprings, great question. We do not support it a standard feature, but you might be able to build a custom integration using our open API to accomplish this. I'd recommend reaching out to our community (http://community.rachio.com/) to learn more about integrations other users have designed & setup.
A:AnswerBill, we do not support custom cycle/soak durations at this time, but you could create different schedules that each water 15 minutes. If you'd like to explore the app, please visit: http://rachio.com/try
A:AnswerWiFi is always recommended to keep up to date with weather and allow for remote access/control. If the controller goes offline, it will run the last saved schedule without skipping for weather events until the controller reconnects to WiFi.
