Yes, but it turned the box off to the point that it had to do a reboot of some sort each time we turned it on which added to the time for a picture to appear.

Yes it will but unlike the Cisco remote, it turned the cable box completely off. The box then did a reboot of some sort each time you turned it on which delayed the start up.
