A:Answer Assuming you just made a typo and mean XA11 camera, then yes, the VideoMicro should work. The XA11 has a 3.5mm input to which you can connect. Also, assuming the "one for $79.00" really means "the Rode mic sold at Best Buy for $79.99", then the difference between the two is the connection. The only Rode mic I can find for sale at Best Buy that is $79.99 is the VideoMic Me-L. That mic will only work with Apple devices with the Lightning connector (iPhones, iPads).
Now, to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't put this tiny shotgun mic on the XA11. Given the camera has an XLR interface built in, there are a whole heap of better shotgun options available. Not saying the VideoMicro is bad, but there are far better choices for this application.
