Q: QuestionHow long should it take to charge this thing? i have had it under direct sunlight for 6 hours and still at 1 led light. any specific way to charge this?
Asked by Syed.
- A:Answer I am not impressed with this "solar" charger. Same experience here, leaving it in the bright Arizona sun for hours and no change in the charge level. It works great as a portable power source if you charge it up the old fashioned way, before heading out. Not was I was hoping for.

Q: QuestionHow long does the charge last after being fully charged if the device is set aside for emergency use? Weeks? Months? I don't want to use it routinely, but would like to have it as a backup power source should there be a power failure.
Asked by MathsC.
- A:Answer 1. I have several units of 3 types. If you are going to charge it up and then throw it in a drawer, forget it. These things need to be used. 2. Most instructions tell you to charge the device fully immediately, via the charger and cord. 3. I have been dealing with batteries and solar chargers since the late 1980s. Those little solar arrays are not going to do much. 4. My favorite unit is a larger 20,000mia thing I take on cycle rides of the pedal type. It recharges my bike lights and will recharge my phone. As we know, Navigation apps are battery hogs, plus I am running my Under Armor app recording my ride. 5. To get the most out of these things, charge them, run them down by use, then charge them again, but use them! Regards, Bobby

Q: QuestionIf the indicator lights go out after 5 minutes while I’m charging my renogy empower 10,000 is it still charging?
Asked by Mo.
- A:Answer Hi Mo, We understand the confusion about this product, however, we can check this information to our manual that recharging time between input source will take 5.5hours from empty to full charge and 30hours from direct sunlight from 50% to full charge. The solar panel built-in is designed for auxiliary charging. Please do not solely rely on it for a full recharge when other power sources are available. Solar recharging time may vary according to weather conditions. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionHello, Can I use this outdoors to power a small USB bird bath pump?
Asked by OutdoorUSBPump.
- A:Answer The way to know if it will work is look at the required power for the pump and see if it matches or is lower than the output from the battery. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a way to protect the battery from the elements.
