Q: QuestionIf this goes on the outside of the door why wouldn't it be designed to be water proof from the weather. What kind of warranty comes with this ?
Asked by Ozzy.
- A:Answer Hi Ozzy, Ring products will work in freezing temperatures and are resistant to rain. In general, Ring doorbells and Cam products with batteries are rated for operating temperatures between -5 to 120 degrees F. (-20 to 50 degrees C.). Cam products without batteries are rated at -22 to 120 degrees F (-30 to 48.5 degrees C). There is a 1-year warranty on Ring products. Q: QuestionIf no motion is detected - but with the impact sensor, or any other feature - would you receive an alert if the door is opened?
Asked by mad11.
- A:Answer Yes, you would get at least a motion notification whole the door is moving, and if the knock sensitivity is super high you might get the "someone's at your door" notification, as sometimes if the door movement is rough or hard we get the knock warning versus the motion warning. However, if the door is left open the only way to know is to view the live picture. Trust me, no one can approach the door without being detected unless you have the motion detection sensitivity WAY down, so opening the door will absolutely trigger it.

Q: QuestionIf you have a glass storm door can it see thru the glass who is there and would they be able to hear you
Asked by Janie.
- A:Answer Hi Janie, Doors that close in front of Door View Cam, like screens and storm doors can have an impact on Door View Cam's functionality. Glass doors usually let you see the camera's view, but you will need to turn off the night vision LEDs in the device settings, or the glass door will reflect them back into the camera, obstructing its view. If Motion Detection is enabled, most outer doors will also prevent motion from being detected by Door View Cam until the outer door is opened. Q: QuestionI want a wireless one like this but don’t have a peephole in my door. Would I buy a different model Or would it be less expensive to hire someone to put a peephole in my door?
Asked by MLB.
- A:Answer I had the same situation. Just drilled a half inch hole in the door...the rest is easy.

Q: QuestionCan it be easily taken off the door? Can someone steal it?
Asked by MSMISTERSINCERE.
- A:Answer If you're the owner, or and have access to the inside of the property, than yes, it's easy to remove because everything needs to be removed from inside the door, not the outside. It would be somewhat difficult for someone to steal it because of the way it's installed on the inside of the door (Ring took that into consideration in my opinion). Now, if someone was determined, anything is possible, but I'm sure it would require more time than the criminal would like to spend, thus, making it easier to get caught.

Q: QuestionConcerned about offending/recording the neighbors directly across the hall, camera pointed right at their door. I'm assuming you can adjust the motion radius? Has anyone had experience with neighbors and can plz explain how settings might help?
Asked by JayLight.
- A:Answer Hi ApartmentsPrivacy, With your Door View Cam, you can set up Privacy Zones. Privacy Zones are areas you designate to black out from your camera’s field of view so that they are not viewable in Live View or recorded in your videos. Privacy Zones can help you control what you want to see and what you don’t. This article will show you how to set up a privacy zone: https://bit.ly/2zfxjXN Bilan J, Customer Satisfaction Specialist [email protected]

Q: QuestionDoes it have a light with the motion sensor?
Asked by Tracy.
- A:Answer The doorbell has night vision, but no light (unless you count the little red dots to see it's recording in night vision). I'd recommend getting a pathway light (or two) or one of their other products to go with it.

Q: QuestionWhat would prevent someone from just taping over the cam?
Asked by sherbear.

Q: QuestionDoes this mount inside my condo or outside?
Asked by Bob.
- A:Answer Both, really. There's an outside piece with the camera and chime button, and the inside with the battery. Both halves are connected through the existing peephole in your door.
