  • QuestionHow long does this stay on? Like is it just a motion trigger where it stays on for a minute or so or can I control it & have it stay on continuously. & if so; for how long; would like to place these on my gate entry door.

    Asked by GlamMA.

    • Answer Like most Ring lights you can configure a scheduled time to come on, Motion triggered, etc. You also can configure the length of time it stays on. Motion detection is a battery drain imo so make sure you have good direct sunlight to charge.

  • QuestionI just had an electrical fire and have no power at my home. My ring solar outdoor security camera, my ring doorbell and my Arlo motion camera are all off line due to no power . What can i do to protect my home with no power.

    Asked by CallieR.

    • Answer Hi Cal. Thanks for asking. The Ring Alarm Pro offers features such as 24/7 backup internet and an internal backup battery inside the base station that can provide backup power. When using the internal battery, you may have limited access to alarm features. A compatible Ring Protect subscription is required (sold separately). • QuestionMy ring solar light went out so I charged UT overnight and still not going on what do I need to do ,,help please

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello, Great question! There could be a couple of different reasons why the Solar Wall Light device is not responding after a recharge. If there is an update available for your Ring app, please update it before you begin. Remind any shared users to update their app too. Be sure to install and set up your Ring Bridge before installing and setting up your Wall Lights. You will need to have a Ring Bridge installed and set up in order to connect your Wall Lights to the Ring App and the rest of your Ring devices. Here is a helpful support article that will walk you through a new setup for your device: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058329751-Setting-up-the-Ring-Wall-Light-Solar-in-the-Ring-app. We invite you to reach out at https://community.ring.com/ if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring pre-purchase question. • QuestionDoes this connects to a ring solar panel? Does it stay on all night? Also, does it uses ring cameras batteries? Thanks

    Asked by Bob80.

    • Answer Looks to have a connector that could connect to an external solar panel if the install spot doesn't get the best sun. Just not sure which Ring panel you would need. The staying on is kind of up to what you set in the app. There is an option to stay on a low light setting, like 30% bright and then go to 100% when it senses motion. No, it does not use the same batteries as the other Ring cameras. It is two 18650 cells, but they are bare. Looks like 2 overgrown AA batteries, but not in any kind of plastic housing that is used for the other camers.
