Q: QuestionDoes it need electricity or does it run on solar?

• A:Answer It has one battery included and an option to add a second one, as well as a solar kit, which recharged the batteries well. That said, I’m returning the unit, as it doesn’t stay connected on the WiFi well enough to do live view and is spotty on recording motion. By this I mean it triggers the motion, but records only black screen video.

• A:Answer 1 fully charged battery last for 2-3 weeks and it depends where you installed the Ring Spotlight Cam. The battery is rechargeable, you remove the battery, and use android USB cable charge the battery. Keep in mind, it takes up to 8 hours to fully charged the battery.

Q: QuestionIn connecting to wi-if , can you use the 5G network or is it just the 2.4ghz ? My 2.4 is very crowded . Also, can I have several cameras connected to different wi-fi connections , such as in a neighborhood watch set up and still be available to use 1 act?

• A:Answer Either 2.4 or 5G. It depends on how good the signal is. Generally 5G is better however it does not reach as far as 2.4. Consider using an app to find which signal is stronger in relationship to the cameras. Plus if 2.4 has a lot of phones tablets etc. they will interfere with the camera. Not sure about the 2nd question sorry.

• A:Answer Yes there’s a fee but small one or some offers come with a year free of basic service 3/mo fee or so. Go to ring.com and check it out. It records/playback uploads to web if need bee. And will record when you use the app to just see what’s going on it’ll start recording that second.

• A:Answer If you go into the ring app, there is a motion setting to turn on or off the light when it detects motion. You might want to check each camera if you have more than one.

• A:Answer mine is covering around 180* and you can set the sensitivity in the RING App for distance to pick up movement. I keep mine on highest sensitivity. Night vision is great as well, the LED lamps brighten up the side and back yard where the 2 cameras are. very happy with these!!
