    Asked by gly.

    • Answer gly, did you get one and figure it out? I had to buy a wifi extender. the product says my signal is not strong, but I still get excellent pictures at all times no matter where i am at (work, home, walking the trail, at restaurants, etc.). Only rarely does the picture fade or the pixels show up. the videos are crystal clear!

  • QuestionDoes this work with WiFi 5G?

    Asked by Marie.

    • Answer Marie, Re: “Does this work with WiFi 5G” No, the battery only unit will not operate at 5GHz. The Ring specifications for the battery operated Stick Up Cam Battery states “Connectivity 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connection @ 2.4GHz”. However, their non battery Stick Up Cam Wired version does operate at 5GHz connectivity, stating specifications of “802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi connection @ 2.4GHz/5GHz or Ethernet”. I’ve had excellent results with the Stick Up Cam Battery model operating at 2.4GH, and prefer the flexibility of the battery operated unit when mounting the device outside. Additionally, 2.4GHz has much greater signal reach if you’re mounting the Cam farther away from your modem/router. Note: the set up app is easy to use and the instructions are very clear. I’ve installed both the Ring Doorbell 2, also battery operated at 2.4GHz, and the Stick Up Cam Battery unit at 2.4GHz, and high recommend both to anyone considering these devices. You should be also aware that the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery does not continuously record video; it simply starts recording when motion is detected thereby extending battery live. Enjoy your new device! John
