The camera is a wide angle lens so it could capture part of the person, but it most likely will not work all that well. The camera can only see what's in front of it.

Unfortunately Best Buy drooped the ball there since the only accessory they have for the ring is the chime or extender. Got wishing a 2 day time frame and works amazing with my ring 2

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It can be mounted on the door facing but must be angled so the lens can capture the face of the person. RING sells “wedges” which allow you to mount it at an angle. The lens has a 180 degree field of view so keep that in mind when mounting.
