You most likely will need to boost your Wi-Fi signal if using the doorbell wirelessly. Or you can run standard doorbell wire to the doorbell.

Do you have a solid wifi connection through your smart phone or tablet? If so, you're good. If not, then they have an optional Chime wifi extender that you plug into an outlet (in garage?) This may help.
