Q: QuestionWill this work with the Xbox series s? Will it run 4k 120fps on the Xbox series s?

• A:Answer If I remember correctly, the Series S does not support 4k 120hz but, it does support 1080p 120hz. So, technically yes, it will support 120hz when the Series S runs a game that is capable of hitting that. (Off of the top of my head COD Warzone and Rogue Company support 120hz on Series S but, they rarely hit the full 120fps mark, there may be some indie games too and older Xbox titles, not for sure entirely, you'll want to search what games support it.)

• A:Answer The technical answer is 8K has four times as many pixels as 4K. The truth right now(late 2023) is there is little to no 8K content for the average consumer to enjoy and the few 8K displays on the market are very expensive right now. The main reason for the confusing "8K" marketing is that due to some changes in what HDMI cables can be listed as 2.1 there are some on the market that say they are "2.1" cables but do not actually support 4K 120fps and 8K 60fps. The 4K 120fps is what most people looking for 2.1 cable want so by saying the cable is 8K what they are really saying is this is a real HDMI 2.1 cable.

• A:Answer Based on the setup you are describing it probably will not matter unless you plan on running anything else through the AVR to the TV. The quality of the signal(resolution and FPS) will match whatever the lowest standard in the chain is. If the Set Top Box can only output 1080p at 60fps that's all you'll get regardless of if your TV is able to do 4K 120fps. If your TV and AVR can both do 4K 120fps I would connect them using the 8K cable and use the premium HDMI to connect the Set Top Box since most companies aren't providing cable channels in 4K at 120fps. This way if you want to connect a game console, 4K streaming device or 4K Blu ray player you done need to change the cable connecting your AVR and TV.
