“Can this device be reset after a surge or is it only good for one protection event? In other words, do I have to purchase a new one every time a surge trips the device? I have a lot of line noise on a set of nice Bose speakers which I'd like to filter/suppress. Will this device do such?”

• No it has a one time protection. You can not reset the device after a serge.

• This surge protector does not have a reset switch. It has a light on it that will turn from green to red when it has been compromised and can no longer protect your electrical load. The light will also indicate when it has reached the end of it's usable protective life.

• It does not have test reset buttons like a GFCI wall outlet. The protector has a green light that comes on when working. If it does not come on after a large enough surge you would have to replace, but it should continue working under most conditions. I have three guitar amps plugged into mine and this surge protector has cleaned up the humming noise commonly asscoiated with dirty power.

• Most devices have a fuse somewhere on it, but this looks much newer. It may have an automatic reset, besides, most surges are grounded. When excess power comes in, it just sends it right to the ground pin. If too much power flows through, your breaker would trip.
