- Answer Hi JChicken, Thank you very much for buying our 7 outlet/6 USB Surge Protector Strip. There is a power supply on the other end of the cord. It can plug in to the main surge protector, or any other outlet you like. It can be used totally seperatly if you like. Arely R. - Rocketfish Support

QuestionIf the 4 port USB hub is plugged directly into a wall outlet, will it still provide surge protection or does it have to be plugged into the strip to provide surge protection?

- Answer The power strip has a plug for the USB hub so that you can get the benefit of the surge protector. If it is plugged directly into the wall outlet, it will not have the surge protection.
