- Answer The only connector this has is a CATV cable connector. There's no HDMI cable compatibility or anything like that. I don't know if you can make a splitter of some sort work to your benefit, but thought I'd tell you what kind of connector comes with the product. I think if they tried to add more options it would change what makes this product convenient - thin, lightweight, portable/relocatable.

- Answer Absolutely! You will need a very good ($100) amplified antenna and perhaps an amplified outdoor antenna to receive through trees and obstructions.

- Answer No. Bought this for my uncle who does not have cable. He uses the stand and it works just fine. May have to move it around a bit for best reception.

- Answer No. This antenna only picks up "over the air" channels. Examples of "over the air" channels are ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, (You can also get these on cable.) But HBO, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney, Food Network, and NBC Sports are exclusively only cable channels. From a performance perspective, this antenna does an excellent job for "over the air" channels.

- Answer Most are licensed by the FCC to broadcast on milliMeter wavelength called U.H.F., so moving this aerial (any aerial) a few inches can change reception quality from just 1 to several "bars" of signal strength...you just have to experiment to find the "hot" position, same as a cell phone when it's "cutting out" in a "bad" area. Carefully unbox a few different antennas and take back to B-Buy for a refund, the antennas that aren't right for your basement.

- Answer Yes easy to connect. Then do channel scan. Problem I had was that not all the channels came in.

- Answer No, CNN is a broadcast cable channel, they do not broadcast OTA. To watch CNN without a cable subscription you need a streaming service, like Roku, Chromecast, Sling TV, etc.
