Yes, as long as the WiFi signal can be detected in that area of your house, it doesn’t have to face out in front if the TV. Mine is the same way and I just point my remote to my TV and the signal gets to the stick in back of the TV.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the Roku in an HDMI port on a TV on the far side of my house, opposite from the wireless router and it seems to stream 4K just fine. Now, this also include a TON of interference items in between the two. I don't think you should have a problem with a little drywall and studs. My suggestion is get a WiFi signal strength app for you phone, go to where you are gonna have the Roku installed and see what the app tells you. Try and download a big picture or file or something from a laptop on wireless from that location. Hope this all helps.
