• Yes they can be used one at a time. I have done this when talking to neighbors at the end of a run when asked how was the run, how far did you go, etc.

• They can be used one-at-a-time but sound is definitely better with both.

• The Ascent earbuds can be used one at a time. You just need to pair the Left earbud by itself to your device. You just need to make sure the Right earbud is turned off or in its case so the don't automatically stereo pair to each other.
