Q: QuestionHow does the noise cancellation work for blocking out CPU fan noise? I have a Lenovo ThinkCenter Edge All-in-one PC and the fan noise can get load at times and can be heard when I record my desktop using OBS studio.

- A:Answer The pair of matched microphone capsules are mounted on the front of a heavy body (which helps reject noise from the back). Also, the two signals are compared so that any audio that comes from the sides are slightly out of phase and can be rejected. So, the ability to "cancel noise" pays more attention to the position of the signal than the character of the signal. In this respect, the unit should be more directional than conventional cardioid pattern directional mics. I love mine, but results may vary.

Q: QuestionI need to interview someone & I was wondering if this Mic would work for that. It will be a very casual interview & since we're friends we can sit close together. I'm planning to have both of us sitting with the computer on a table in front of us.

- A:Answer Should work beautifully. I use it to capture the sermons of our Preacher each week. He stands about 2 ft from it and obviously moves a bit side to side with zero issues. The mic is much more sensitive than you might think. I actually have to lower the gain for this reason. It is omni-directional, so it should serve you quite well.

Q: QuestionI want to use this microphone to make voice recordings on my computer to be used with other software later. Does this microphone only work with voice recognition software or does it work on its own?
Asked by DD.
- A:Answer It functions as a standard recording device in Windows. As long as the software you're capturing with recognizes other sound devices, it will work fine with this.
