“I have a coffee machine from Turkey which works at 230v. I want to use it in the US so is this the right tool to purchase? Having hard time to understand which converter I should by to make it work efficiently in the US.”

This converter only converts 210/220 to 120 volts. It is a step-down converter and won't work with your coffee maker. You need a step-up converter. This website (http://www.220-electronics.com/voltage-converter-buying-guide.html) has some useful information.
