Cleaning around the grill part can be challenging, I haven't had to yet, but it's pretty tight around it. Other than that, the surface is dark blue ceramic, and easy to clean.

Very easy, just a little soap and water, I use only damp cloth on the elements

A damp towel cleans it up quickly. Nothing will ever have to be scrubbed off.
