“How much space needs to be on the top, bottom and sides of this mw from the cabinets? I am planning on sliding this into a base cabinet which is made for counter style microwave ovens. I just want to make sure the opening of this cabinet has enough space for this microwave oven to have adequate ventilation on all sides.”

I didn't have to add any additional space from the measurements of the microwave. The microwave also has stoppers in the back so I think it's to give you the necessary space in the back. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.we have this in a base cabinet. The opening is 231/2" wide 131/2" high. There is plenty of room to open the door, etc. The actual space is 28 wide 24 deep and 17high. I do not know what the mfg would recommend. We have not had any issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The bottom is not an issue since the feet place it at the right level. Behind it is the most important as that is where the fan is located. I would suggest about 2-4" minimum to allow air to move freely behind the unit. The sides .5-1" minimum to allow air to move all around the unit and allow the air to free flow.
