• The SMH1622S can be set up to vent outside from the rear or top of the unit, or filtered air can be recirculated into the room from vents located in the front that are concealed from view. Thanks for your interest! Ms. Samsung

• Mine goes to an exterior vent, but I think vent can be switch before install to blow in.
