• A:Answer Samsung recommends installing the SMH1713 so the bottom is at least 13-1/2" above the surface of the cooktop. Please see the attached image for minimum installation measurements. - Ms. Samsung

Q: QuestionIt says in specs no night light? What is the cooktop light? Are they the same?

• A:Answer The SMH1713W does have a cook top light that can be set to Hi, Low or Off and can be used as a night light if you wish. There is also an option to set a timer so the light turns on and off at the same time every day, until you choose to change it. Q: QuestionAre there any required accessories to install the oven for the recirculating/ventless fan?The installation instructions are unclear on this and the printed materials show the oven with a "grill" in the top portion of the front fascia and the oven does not have this feature.

• A:Answer When installing the SMH1713S using the recirculating vent feature, it's important to check the blower motor to be sure it's angled in the right direction to blow air out the front, and the charcoal filter should be installed to filter the air. No additional accessories are necessary for the venting. Some of the illustrations in the manual reflect the exposed vent design rather than the hidden vent, but the installation process is the same. • A:Answer No, kit is not required. It comes with a bracket, which is attached to the microwave when you take it out of the box. You use this to mount it to the wall.
