• Yes, you can set it up that way. It will vent through a filter then blow straight up at the front of the unit. It is designed for 12" deep cabinets.

• Yes, the SMH1816S can be set up to recirculate filtered air into the room from vents located in the front that are concealed from view. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung
