“Is there any way to make the light brighter on the over-the-range microwave SMH1816S ( the one under the unit that lights the top of the range)?”

• Thank you for the question. The SMH1816S features high and low settings for the cooktop light, which uses a 40-watt bulb. The light cannot be made any brighter than the "high" setting allows. - Ms. Samsung

• The cooktop light has 2 brightness settings. If you want a brighter light then you could install a higher wattage light bulb, but Samsung recommends a 40 watt incandescent light bulb for the cooktop lamp.
