“Where is the vent on SMH1816 model. I have read in this thread that the exhaust on this model can be vented interior and is concealed. So, where does the vent open? Just wondering! Looking at the pictures of this model, the vent is really not visible.”

The SMH1816 can be set up to vent outside from the rear or top of the unit, or filtered air can be recirculated into the room from vents located on the front top edge of the microwave. The vents are angled out into the room to help protect the front of the cabinets. - Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's actually pretty slick. The vents are on top of the microwave, but won't interfere with or vent into the cabinets above. I recently installed this model for recirculating exhaust, and really like the sleek ventless look of it.
