“Is the whistling noise made by the ice maker common? Every 4 hours when it makes ice, there is a very loud, annoying whistling noise. The service guy says they all do this...The refridgerator is 2 days old. I cant believe this would be acceptable to most people. How do we get it fixed?”

I got rid of the noise by partially closing the water supply valve. Adjust the valve by closing it then opening it up a little at a time while checking flow from the ice dispenser. I got good flow with the valve one third open and the noise went away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The unit is now 12 days old, and still makes the noise. The ice is used frequently so it has been "bled". Unfortunately Samsung has not been helpful either. I like the fridge, but not the noise... It will be returned.
