QuestionHow do you stop rust spots and discoloration on Samsung's Stainless Steel refrigerators?After two years, we are shocked to find tiny rust looking spots and discoloration on the outside finish of our Samsung Stainless Steel refrigerator. We only use the cloth and cleaning products recommended by Best Buy. Neither Best Buy (even with our 4 year warranty), or Samsung, will cover repairs to our refrigerator Is there anyone else we can contact? How can we stop these problems before they get worse?

- Answer NO good solution to exterior finish problems. Neither Samsung or Best Buy consider this their concern. They said it is not covered by extended warranty. The refrigerator is in our kitchen. Best Buy staff said maybe it was the Florida air. Then they shouldn't sell the refrigerators in Florida! We have always cleaned the outside surface with the special stainless cleaner recommended by Best Buy sales person!

- Answer Did you try raising the temperature of the freezer 1-2 degrees? I just did that and waiting for results. I am going to get a real thermometer to check and see if the digital readout is accurate. I bet it's colder in there causing trouble.

- Answer Samsung has acknowledged a problem with the water valves themselves. Have a tech check it out to see if this is the problem with your unit.

QuestionSeveral buyers of the Samsung Model RS25H5111SR model firdge c/o ice maker clumping up?More than buyer has complained that the ice maker clumps up and their having to ice pick to break it up so they can get ice for their drinks manually rather than thru the ice dispenser on the door. Can you explain why this may be happening to them? Not easy returning a large appliance like this one after the old one has been hauled away.

Ice clumping in the freezer can have different causes, and in some cases can be resolved with basic troubleshooting, such as leveling the refrigerator properly, and adjusting the temperature as recommended. - Answer To change the temperature for the fridge press the fridge button repeatedly to set the temperature between 44 °F (7 °C) and 34 °F (1 °C) and press the freezer button repeatedly to set the freezer temperature between 5 °F (-15 °C) and -8 °F (-23 °C). - Answer Water might be related to pressure in your residence OR your water filter might be too old. For the ice, you do not want to use a knife. Open the freezer door. To the left, you will see a large knob. That knob is driven by a motor in the body. If you rotate that knob by your hand, it should be fine. Also note that sometimes the design of that knob prevents the freezer door from closing. This is a bad design. I am not happy with this purchase at all. Just FYI.

- Answer Yes it shows smudges, and when its delivered with the protective wrap, its hard to get the "chemical" marks off.
