• Yes, its a simply press of a small button.. very easy on and off.

• Yes don't hook up the water line, or keep the arm in the up position.

• Absolutely. Just don't hook up the water line. Although it's one of the nicest ice makers I have ever owned. Maybe you would just consider a fridge without that upgrade and save some money.
