“How long does it take a newly installed refrigerator to reach set temperature? We had our RS265TDRS installed early this afternoon and it has been plugged in and "running" for the last 6 - 7 hours. Since that time the refrigerator and freezer compartments have actually increased in temperature. The freezer is set to 0 degrees (F) and the refrigerator is set to 38 degrees (F). Kind of confused as to why the unit is getting warmer instead of colder. Any idea if this is normal, how long it takes to reach the set temp or what may be causing this issue?”

If you had the fridge shipped horizontally, then you didn't let it sit up right for about 6 hours to let coolant reach equilibrium again. Unplug and let sit for 6hours, then try again. If not, you broke the cooling unit, return it.

It's not unusual for it to take as much as 24 hours for the refrigerator and freezer to reach the set temperatures, but the actual temperatures should be decreasing as they cool, not increasing. Please make sure your RS265TDRS is plugged into a working outlet, rated appropriately for 115V/60 Hz and 11.6 amps. If this continues, and after 24 hours the unit has not cooled to the set temperature, please call 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you. - Ms. Samsung
